Toy Story 5 Trailer Pits The Beloved Duo Versus a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 anniversary after the original Toy Story film was released, establishing Pixar as a leading animation studio and introducing viewers to iconic figures like Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed recently, providing a brief look into the storyline but keeping fans curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang
The preview shows Bonnie ā who received Andy's toys when he grew up ā receiving a brand new plaything, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.
Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. However, the characters seem to view it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the trailer avoids is what the sheriff is returned with his friends in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (the actress), traveling with a carnival and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, the filmmakers will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with him. And what about Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)?
Continuity from the Last Installment
At the very least, some elements are carrying over from the prior film. The final act the cowboy did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his symbol of authority to Jessie (Joan Cusack), entrusting her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. The clip displays the insignia pinned to her outfit.
It is hoped she is still the key figure among the toys.
Toy Story 5 debuts on the scheduled date.
