Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global break, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
