Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available on designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the NFL season , after recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests was the number of penalties both conceded. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they kind of beat themselves after leading 17-3 going into the fourth period against Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.

However it proved good to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit before direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the game 21-17.

Denver have the top defender in CB their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't always rushing extra pass rushers instead they could position two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted during a show that the Broncos might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year well and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while new running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

That shows that Denver represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in favourable situations.

It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to throw anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, and he is so athletic.

His assets include his mobility, being able to pass on the run, as well as finding different arm angles to make throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to deliver that layered pass over the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the defence to be on the field for longer, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the area vertically and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can really develop him how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success Denver are having on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you during difficult moments and boost confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to face a top squad at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to be in their division. The key is to continue this path.

They excel at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and that's precisely what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win any game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are also the first team to be without any turnovers in five outings, which is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they meet because Denver {beat|def
