Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Serious Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

One senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Offences

Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
