Canada's Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Showdown Against Los Angeles Dodgers
Springer previously helped the Astros claiming the World Series in 2017.
Canada's MLB team reached their initial Fall Classic following the 1993 season by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive Game 7 of the ALCS.
Down 3-1, Springer delivered a three-run blast in the seventh frame, propelling the sole Canadian team in MLB to a four games to three victory in the seven-game series. Next up are the defending champions, the team that is the defending champions, in the forthcoming Fall Classic.
"I'm thrilled for everyone here, the city, the nation," said Springer, an integral part of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "What an unbelievable moment."
Springer has now slugged 23 post-season home runs, ranking him third in history trailing only Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (27).
"It's hard to imagine anyone else on planet Earth that I'd prefer in that moment besides George Springer with his post-season brilliance," remarked Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
Seattle's team, after leading the early in the series, remain the sole team yet to make an appearance in a championship series.
Manager Dan Wilson commented "certainly that it's painful" following his team's loss at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but praised their efforts in the campaign.
"It's a special team. It's a shame that we had to come out on the unsuccessful side of this game," he continued.
The Blue Jays secured the title on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Los Angeles in game one on Friday.
